Denmark

Denmark is the State in northwest of Europe, the most southern Scandinavian country. Unique overland border — in the south with the land of Shlezvig-Goldshtejn (Germany). In the north it is washed by waters of passage Skagerak, in the east — passage Kattegat, in the south — Baltic sea, in the West — Northern sea. Denmark is located on Jutland Peninsula, and also on a plenty of islands of the Baltic and Northern seas, largest of which Zealand, Funen, Loland, Falster, Bornholm. Denmark also posesses Greenland and Faroe Islands which are having the right of self-management.

The Danish kingdom is known since VIII century when in 780 the Danish vikings have won Britain. In XI century the Danish kingdom has accepted christianity. Blossoming of kingdom was in the end of ХII — the beginning of XIII centuries when it had extensive territories of the coast of Baltic sea. In XVII century Denmark has got in submission of Sweden. During the Second World War Denmark has been occupied by Germany.

The country is a member of the United Nations and all specialized agencies of the organization, OSCE, EU, NATO.
